2012Wesley and Danielle // Alivia Duran Traverse City Wedding Photographer
Wesley and Danielle were married late June at the New Hope Church in Traverse City, Michigan. They were married a week before I left for Spain, so in the preparation for leaving I decided to leave this post until later. I was so occupied in Spain that I could barely get away to blog about my trip, so here it is August and I am finally getting the photos up.
Wesley is also a photographer and make sure that his dad was close by with his camera so he could take some shots of his beautiful bride ;) This was my first wedding on my own as the primary shooter, and I was honestly preeetty nervous. I shot so many photos, not wanting to miss anything. I packaged the discs up and mail them off to the newly married couple a few days before I flew out to Valencia and a few days later got this message from Wesley, “Thanks, I got them, and they are AMAZING! Fantastic work, I love them. :)” Made my day =) I shot my second wedding on my own the week I got back and was even more nervous than the first time. I’m still new at this and the pressure to capture someone’s wedding day, for me, is huge. I suppose it’s not professional and well-thought of for photographers to disclose their personal feelings on their blogs but I think when you hire someone to photograph your wedding you need to have a good relationship with them and be able to communicate well. I like to be honest and open. If you don’t both share the same vision the couple isn’t going to be happy and neither will you when you get negative feedback. Working in photography you not only have to sell your work, but in one way, sell yourself. No one wants the obnoxious photographer making a scene with a blinding flash and ordering the bridal party about! But enough chatter, I take pictures and am not a writer for a reason. =)

Wesley and Danielle, blessings on your marriage! Thank you so much for asking me to be apart of your day.
